Brilliant work on the double-torso! I always struggled to accept characters with 4 (and more) arms because the additional arms are always illustrated jutting out by the ribs or armpits with no shoulders to support them. I feel you can't just staple extra arms onto a body and think they will be functionally useful, but this is the first example I've seen that's actually believable (alien as it it).
Huh. That's an interesting way to draw a green martian -- a torso stacked on top of a torso. It does solve a few problems with arm placement and arranging things so the arms stop getting in each others way.
All of your paintings are awesome Joe, but what makes her your favorite? For me, almost the perfect female form, she's beautiful! My question is I guess, do you think she's gorgeous, (Yes) or is it the artistic part, the best one you've drawn from the point of realism? Always wonder what the artist is thinking when he critiques his own work.
Well Joe let me just say this, I love and have collected every WoM cover and Dejah Thoris cover you have done so far. However, ERB Inc. now has a lawsuit against Dynamite Inc for use of their Warlord of Mars and Tarzan Lord of the Jungle (without the premission from Edgar Rice B. Inc.). If DE has to stop the comics becasue of the lawsuit, thank you for some awesome covers, by far my favorite covers on any Dynamite comics out there, Joe you never stop amazing me big guy.
wow great work. I really like how you painted the female character in this one, I love how the shading of her bum has an illusion of 3D becuase of how great you shaded that area. The whole figure is magic, and great use of colour.
I have long standing, good relationships with both parties. As a Work For Hire employee I have no knowledge or interest in the legal affairs of either. For me to comment either way would be inappropriate.
