The Fall of Barsoom No.1 by JoeJusko The Fall of Barsoom No.1 by JoeJusko
After the incredible critical and commercial success of Dynamite's Warlord of Mars and Warlord of Mars: Dejah Thoris series, comes Warlord of Mars: Fall of Barsoom! 100,000 years before the time of John Carter! Barsoom is a dying world: its once mighty oceans are receding and its atmosphere grows more tenuous by the day. The Orovars, who have dominated for a million years, are on the verge of extinction at the hands of the Green Hordes and the emerging Red Martians. Two Orovars - a Scientist and a General -- race against time to save their people before Mars plunges into barbarism! Be sure to pick up Warlord of Mars: Fall of Barsoom before it sells out this July!

Heya Joe, your work is a so delicious to look at lol like a visual toy, in fact, I feel figurine's based on your works would be ripe for today's collectors. I also think the forthcoming CG "John Carter of Mars" should use your palette and characterisations as an inspiration.

sihh . . . the whole warlord of mars series by dynamite is head scratchingly insane

there is literally no attention to the detail of the books, so many red martian men with beards . . . . so many

and the red martians idnt just emerge it was the gradual process of interbreeding between the blacks, yellows, and whites

they werent a threat, or an emerging race . . . they are simply the result of the other three races trying to survive through cooperation

this whole idea presented here makes it seem like the red martians were some sort of threat to the planet

yet when the whites oculdnt finish building the atmosphere processing plant, they finished

and why the turd in the sketched out preview does the one guy look so . . . modern

there was 100,000 year old martians in llana of gathol . . . they didnt look modern

just . . . no attention to detail

I blame it on the fact that the wiki is lacking in much of this information

Great details on this! I really like the use of a green color scheme for the background, too =D

Wha...??? a NEW Barsoom book???....I just reread the "Under the Moons of Mars" to see if it was ok for my 10yr old to read and now I want to reread the whole series....
Awesome image by the way...I guess they wore more clothes back then :)...
Who is the Author of this latest "Warlord of Mars: Fall of Barsoom"...oh wait...I'll check the link.
I like the backgroun scene...It would be neat to see an Orovar in there so you could get a sense of the size of the Gren Martians and thier Thoats.

Nice work

As always.. Excellent work, dude. A sentiment shared by those in the business, as well. That's got to be the best reward of all, I should think. Nothing like being singled out by your peers as "The Best" at anything. Well deserved praise.

Here's a thought.. with your Ins in the business, any chance you could talks someone into tackling the Ringworld series..? Doesn't look like anyone is EVER going to put it on film, and it just screams, "Visual'! And I could see you having a ball with the characters in it.

As a long time fan, who would spend hours looking to the covers of Conan some 25 years ago, imagining the stories that that single image induced, I can only say you just keep getting better every day, sir.
