SUPERMAN Unchained No. 6 (Variant Cover) by JoeJusko SUPERMAN Unchained No. 6 (Variant Cover) by JoeJusko
First off, sorry I haven't been around lately. I've been working on a huge project that is taking up all my time but that I can't reveal as of yet. Soon, though. Soon.

I was asked by my buddy Mark Chiarello at DC to reinterpret a classic Action Comics cover for Big Blue's 75th anniversary. It was a helluva lot of fun taking a fairly mundane cover and breathing some new life into it. Rendered in Ivory Black acrylic and Charcoal Grey watercolor on Crescent 100 illustration board. The updated colors are by the super talented Dave Devilpig Johnson, who was kind enough to slum for a day.

I was always taken by the weird plaid on the thug's clothing. To me it was classic villain garb.
