I tend to work from the background forward in my paintings as I find it easier to light the figures to the setting than the other way around. I mask of the figures with Windsor & Newton Masking Fluid before I paint the background as this keeps the area perfectly clean. This is important to me as I use my acrylics in a translucent or transparent manner much of the time. Here the background is painted and the masking fluid has been removed from the leopard's figure.

I was wondering why you were masking, considering I knew you painted in acrylic...didn't know you did not paint opaquely. Thanks for all the progress pics!

You're welcome! I find they dry too quickly to work them opaquely most of the time.

wow. i'm so interested in the process - technique. how did you keep that area white? and why did you wait until the end to work on it? this is amazing. and she's totally just taking advantage of the situation so she can touch his body. she's all in a trance. girls. great work. what's the actual size of this? i'm turning green
