Since the painting is acrylics I chose to paint the breastplates and g-string in water soluble gouache (an opaque water based paint) for the general distribution version of the comic. Whether or not Dynamite will print the unrated version is yet to be determined.

Since the retouch is gouache on acrylic it can be wiped off with no damaging effect to the original painting whatsoever. I'll leave that decision to the new owner of the painting.

Perhaps your best Dejah Thoris cover from my humble perspective, Sir. Really happy that you are working on all these series. Wish you had time to do some interior work as well but I guess you would have to clone yourself several times for that to work out on top of all the cover work.

Love the storytelling element in this cover. The texture in the background is great. Was that achieved with a paper towel / sponge technique that you demo-ed in your Sheena DVD?

The environment is superb. That is why it is reminiscent of Frazetta to me. Your color selection and variation for the background, while still lovely in itself, gives depth and dimension to the foreground; accentuating and supporting it.
