These faux vintage paperback covers look real fun. You made them look quite authentic. I have tons of the old mystery, sci-fi, and assorted lurid pbks myself.

Not just a pulp book cover, would make a great movie poster of the period.

You need to sell this as a print, it's just too good.

I LOVE those old books! Ironically, Hard Case Crime doesn't think my work is right for their books. Quote; "No one will ever confuse Joe Jusko with Bob McGinnis". WTF? lol

Gone are the days when quality artwork was seen even on the cheapest of releases. This is so convincing- before reading about your calendar plans I was actually interested in reading the book . That old book style is translated beautifully, just an all around excellent series so far.

Great job!

I'd love to see your take on the "men's adventure" (aka "sweat pulps") magazine covers of the '60's... they had titles like Man's Action, Escape to Adventure, Real Men, Men's Epic, etc. They featured covers by the likes of Norman Saunders and Norm Eastman, and VERY un-P.C. (lot's of lingerie-clad beauties being tortured by Nazis, that kind of thing).

I have all of the collections! With all the animal covers that stuff is right up my alley! I was approached by an ad agency in Holland a couple of years ago to paint a series in that vein for a "Bring Back the Real Man" beer campaign but it never materialized. :-(

It was a cool idea. Ten 2 part before and after illos showing a guy fighting a shark or facing off against a bear, etc and then the follow up with the guy drinking a beer while holding shark jaws or sitting by the stuffed bear in his den. Oh, well. Not sure if they ever did do the campaign.
